e-Lab

The e-Lab is an information platform bringing together data, analytical methods and people for timely, high-quality decision-making and is one of North West eHealth's lead products.

An e-Lab is a ground-breaking web application for the creation and sharing of resources relating to research and analysis projects. It integrates with a data repository and governance mechanisms to allow users to retrieve anonymised data against defined criteria while simultaneously providing functionality for performing advanced analysis and visualisation.
e-lab
Through a combination of methods and statistical functions e-Lab makes it possible to create a reproducible analysis for a specific need. This analysis can then be examined and reviewed within the e-Lab and shared between approved colleagues.

An e-Lab serves to:

  • Facilitate and stimulate data integration and analysis
  • Maximise efficient use of resources
  • Capture and retain knowledge
  • Support Innovation in clinical care
  • Save time, money and resources

e-Lab functionality is currently being developed to:
·        Provide clinical audit for surgical procedures
·        Produce statistically sound evidence of the outcome of bariatric surgery
·        Investigate spending activities amongst GP practices within the context of a dynamic report inviting comment and refinement from GPs
·        Provide evidence about the causes of readmissions
·        Investigate prevalence of disease amongst populations with co-morbidities
