Doubt cast on health inequalities spend as DH launches new toolkit

Launch of a new Health Inequalities Intervention Toolkit

The Department of Health has launched a new HealthInequalities Intervention Toolkit that allows trusts tomonitor and respond to trends and to tackle health inequalities.

The launchcame in the same week that the Audit Commission released a report saying thatthe NHS had allocated £21bn to reducing health inequalities in 2009/10 for “nodiscernible benefit”.
